What is a waterfall?

A waterfall is a visibility structure that lets brokers control which carriers (by DOT number) can view a private load, and when. Brokers can upload lists of DOT numbers and assign them to tiers within a waterfall. Each tier defines how early its associated carriers can see a load before pickup time.

For example:

Tier 1: Immediate visibility to preferred carriers. (These are your VIP carrier list)

Tier 2: Becomes visible to the next group (e.g., 24 hours before pickup).

Tier 3: Expands visibility further (e.g., 12 hours before pickup).

Public: Optionally becomes visible to all carriers after the final tier.

All visibility timing and access are controlled by the waterfallID linked to that load.

If a waterfallID is provided, the load is updated to a private load. If no waterfallID is provided, the load behaves as normal.
